Black Cat Burrito in Boone

Really yummy build-your-own burrito bowl! Did all veggies + beans and it was delicious.

Me and my husband are in town for the night visiting my sister in law, craving a burrito and heard great reviews about this place. To put it nicely, absolutely terrible. One star is too high of a rating. The food was extremely bland, I could only taste the coconut curry sauce which was also smothered all over the burrito and didn’t even taste good. My sister in law said her burrito tasted like straight water, she ended up not even finishing it. It looked like a mess behind the counter and we were charged way too much for such a horrible meal. The only decent food we tried were the fries, still not the best. Don’t waste your time here, go to chipotle or honestly just anywhere else.

I took a big break from coming to Black Cat for a reason. They mess up my order! I ask for tofu, and they give me chicken. What's the point of asking me what protein I want? Vegetarians be warned, double check before you bite into that burrito

Super fresh tacos and burritos. Love this place. They didnt have beef, guacamole when we visited so we had to order lamb burritos and fish tacos, which were both great.

What a cool place to eat. At first it looked like a little hole in the wall until we stepped inside. Every one in my party enjoyed their meal. I would describe it as an upscale Moe’s that serves beer. I say Moe’s, but the food was head and shoulders above Moe’s. The place kind of had a bar feel that you could still take your young kids to. Kind of hip, but with really great food. We will return!

Black Cat is a Boone staple. Build your own burritos are huge and they come with the most amazing slaw. Great local spot.

We got nachos, taco salad with mango salsa, and steak tacos- all were delicious! Learned that the vegetarian chili was seasonal though. Came back another time and got the fish tacos, yum!

I used to LOVE this place. So much that my wife and I would drive an hour just to get a Burrito of Brotherly Love. Tonight, I got a burrito full of what tasted like microwaved chicken. It came out entirely too fast to be freshly made...unlike the way it used to be. Heavy metal was a little much and it was playing way too loud.

Easily one of my favorite spots in Boone. Happy to see that after changing hands and closing for a bit that the menu remains relatively unchanged. I always go for the Don't Be a Jerk burrito which is delicious. My wife and I almost always stop in at Black Cat when we are in Boone.

Trendy Mexican. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was on the telly. The food was plentiful and delish. Pictured is the Brotherly Love Burrito.

Probably the best burrito I have ever eaten. Great prices. Lots of food for what you pay for. So flavorful and tasty. Highly recommend. They also have drink specials each night of the week.

I went to this location for the first time with my brother and sister-in-law. Chipotle was closed so we figured we’d give them a try. The food looked promising but did not deliver. The food had absolutely no flavor and was very watery. Our burritos were drenched in sauce and even then we couldn’t find flavor in it.. would not recommend! Highly disappointed, save your money and cook at home.

Im visiting from Raleigh and my friend brought me here telling me it was one of the best places in Boone. Took about 45 minutes for a taco salad and 1 burrito. Had to ask to get the food to go since we had plans for the day. Food was decent. Not sure why they just threw my chips in the bag instead of in a container, is that how they usually do it?

Latest updates fix what was missing but keep what was working. A must visit for downtown.

Amazing food! Will continue to bring my friends when they are in town

Food is fine, but service is almost non existent. There is no direction, the cashier didn't know the menu I had to pull up on my phone. We paid they handed us a number. No way of knowing if the order was right or not as even the receipt lacked the order. We had to ask for our drinks after we ordered too. It's like a bunch of people were told they work here, but dont really know what they're doing. Other than the cook you're just about on your own.

My boyfriend and I went here for the first time the other night and shared a plate of nachos. It tasted okay but, about halfway through we realized that most of the chicken was severely undercooked. I thought at first it was just dark meat but I looked closer at some of the pieces and they pink and chewy. We probably should have said something to the manager but we didn't. Thank goodness we didn't get sick but it freaked us out enough to where we probably won't go back.

Wow. This place used to be the bomb. Now the ingredients have changed, and it’s nearly impossible to get here when they’re actually open. This used to be one of my favorite places and I told so many friends and family how great it was. Now, when I go the ingredients are sub par and they have been out if ingredients needed for my favorite burritos multiple times. I give up on trying to come back. :( so sad

I Can't Believe I Ate the Whole Thing! But it was so yummy I had to.

Decided to give this place a try, and was definitely the worst burrito I’ve had. No flavor, tasted very watery, and just a bad experience. Definitely do not recommend.
